#017 Teaser Demos
July 2st, 2024
A Mike G Production
Song of The Week:
Agenda:
1) Teaser Demos
How to show your product (on the very first call) to build a lot of interest and set a much longer call as the second step.
2) Video Time
A quick video explaining why I think this strategy is so effective. Especially since it’s rarely ever used.
First Things First
Let’s align on what a teaser demo actually is.
A teaser demo is a simple 3 to 5 minute demo of your product (on the first call) that’s tied to your buyer’s number one priority and/or challenge.
Think of it as a really quick test drive.
That’s it.
What a teaser demo certainly is NOT:
A full blown demo or even showing more than one thing to your buyer.
The entire purpose of the teaser demo is to build interest for a much longer second call.
Usually 45, 60 or 90 minutes for a deeper dive into the product, looping in other stakeholders, etc.
So keep it short.
How To Do It To It
First, make sure you have the time.
At least 10 minutes left at the end of the call.
If you only have 5 minutes left:
Skip it and go to next steps.
Those are more important.
But if you have the time use this talk track.
Hey Jill -
Looking at the clock here we have about 10 minutes left.
How about I show you real quickly how to solve X in our platform?
That way you have a high level understanding of how we may be able to help and if it’s interesting we can schedule a deeper dive into the product.
What do you think?
Then, show a super quick demo of one feature.
After that…
Stop the screen share and roll into next steps.
Hey Jill -
Curious to know…
What was running through your mind as I was sharing that?
[buyer responds]
Great, based on that do you mind if I recommend some next steps for us to take?
Boom.
There you go.
Next steps scheduled live on the call achieved.
